The NCEG MOGULS College Music Competition Makes a Powerful Return This Fall In Partnership With RSG Agency
"Empowering the next generation of music entrepreneurs in college."
Prepare for the highly anticipated return of the NCEG MOGULS College Music Competition this Fall, scheduled to kick off on September 14, 2023. This edition boasts a remarkable lineup of over 100 aspiring artists who auditioned, culminating in the selection of dozens of exceptional talents from various colleges and universities. In the previous Fall season, 40 exceptionally gifted artists spanning diverse genres took the stage; each of the top 20 showcased immense promise, while the top 5 artists secured supplementary opportunities to propel their musical careers forward. Our algorithmic evaluations, scored on a 100-point scale with a standardized average of 70, have proven to be reliable indicators of potential success, and this year, with the guidance of distinguished veterans Derek Jackson, Dasha Ware, Aaron Neal, RockLan One, and Leah Tiller, from the music industry, we anticipate even higher scores on competition day.
The music competition marks a significant milestone as it expands to multiple campuses for the very first time. Joining the fray are Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, Georgia Tech, Georgia Gwinnett College, and the Atlanta University Center (comprising Clark University, Spelman College, and Morris Brown College). Our participating students have demonstrated heightened understanding of entrepreneurial concepts, as well as notable growth and retention in their fan base. Additionally, NCEG has exciting plans to release a pilot episode of the MOGULS competition, accompanied by post-match commentary.
Our mission is unwavering: to establish a standardized pathway enabling passionate music enthusiasts to enter the industry through a merit-based approach. In essence, we're creating what could be termed the NCAA of the music realm.
Expanding its horizons this Fall, the NCEG program welcomes over 150 fresh members. This initiative is dedicated to equipping students with the tools they need for immediate entry into Georgia's thriving entertainment sector. By providing essential resources, guidance, and a comprehensive comprehension of the intricacies of the music business, the program empowers participants to maximize their college years. Through engaging events and spirited music competitions, students forge connections with reliable business partners, leverage their surroundings to build a substantial portfolio, and enhance their attractiveness as both potential hires and aspiring entrepreneurs.
NCEG is committed to helping students craft real-life experiences rooted in their passions, all while maintaining a balance with their academic commitments. Generating sufficient revenue, the program aims to establish scholarship funds for aspiring music entrepreneurs by appointing official representatives for each university.
Join us for the upcoming competition and witness which educational institution will crown the finest emerging artist.
About NCEG: The National Collegiate Entertainers Group (NCEG) stands as a student-driven movement poised to revolutionize talent discovery within the music industry. Originating in 2013 at Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA), this organization has established a uniform and reproducible system for nurturing music professionals. As a result, students are granted the opportunity to collaborate, innovate, and benchmark their achievements against peers from any university featuring an NCEG chapter. The brainchild of the dynamic Derek "Pres' Jackson, who matured during Atlanta's music superstar zenith, along with Co-Founders Xavier Jones and Arun Gopal, NCEG emerged from the observation that entrepreneurial facets of the multibillion-dollar music industry lacked institutional backing. With the support of like minded peers, NCEG was forged to pioneer a new frontier in the industry. The core executive team comprises CEO Derek Jackson, CMO Dasha Ware, CTO Aaron Neal, and CCO Arun Gopal.
